A Region-Level Motion-Based Graph Representation and Labelling for Tracking a Spatial Image Partition

چکیده
This paper addresses two image sequence analysis issues under a common framework. These tasks are, "rst, motion-based segmentation and second, updating and tracking over time of a spatial partition of an image. By spatial partition, we mean that constituent regions display an intensity, color or texture-based homogeneity criterion. Several issues in dynamic scene analysis or in image sequence coding can motivate this kind of development. A general-purpose methodology involving a region-level motion-based graph representation of the partition is presented. This graph is built from the topology of the spatial segmentation map. A statistical motion-based labeling of its nodes is carried out and formalized within a Markovian approach. Groups of spatial regions with consistent motion are identi"ed using this labeling framework, leading to a motion-based segmentation that is both useful in itself and for propagating the spatial partition over time. Results on synthetic and real-world image sequences are shown, and provide a validation of the proposed approach. ( 2000 Pattern Recognition Society. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. We aim at detecting moving objects in color image sequences acquired with a mobile camera. This issue is of key importance in many application elds. To accurately recover motion boundaries, we exploit a ne spatial image partition supplied by a MRF-based color segmentation algorithm. We introduce a region-level graph modeling embedded in a Markovian framework to detect moving objects in the scen...
متن کاملUsing a Novel Concept of Potential Pixel Energy for Object Tracking
Abstract In this paper, we propose a new method for kernel based object tracking which tracks the complete non rigid object. Definition the union image blob and mapping it to a new representation which we named as potential pixels matrix are the main part of tracking algorithm. The union image blob is constructed by expanding the previous object region based on the histogram feature. The pote...

متن کاملSegmentation of Magnetic Resonance Brain Imaging Based on Graph Theory
Introduction: Segmentation of brain images especially from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential requirement in medical imaging since the tissues, edges, and boundaries between them are ambiguous and difficult to detect, due to the proximity of the brightness levels of the images. Material and Methods: In this paper, the graph-base...
